LisaRaye's and Da Brat's Father

There's this great book out called "Daughters of Men" by Rachel Vassell. It's full of portraits of African American women and their dads. Sanaa Lathan and her dad are in it, Meagan Good and her dad, Tischa Campbell and her dad, you get the picture. Anyway, one of the portraits is of LisaRaye and her father David Ray McCoy, and though she looks really pretty on her picture LisaRaye also looks really sad and old heads from Chicago know why. In 1988 LisaRaye's pops was found shot and killed in the back seat of his Cadillac in a Southside Chicago alley, LisaRaye was 22 years old at the time. Ray McCoy, a savvy Southside millionaire, owned a string of motels and nightclubs and loaned money to hundreds of people who wanted to start their own businesses. The mystery of Ray's murder gripped the city. But as it turned out Ray, who at age 52 was a paraplegic, was killed by his 32 year old live-in girlfriend and her 20 year old brother after they got into an argument over a high electric bill and who should rake the leaves.

He was associated with a big time Chicago Hustler named Flukey Stokes, and his son Willie the Wimp. . Picture below.

Caught On Tape: Man Beats Boy, 2, At Party Store

A Detroit man was caught on a party store's surveillance video (Video: MyFoxDetroit) beating his girlfriend's 2-year-old son recently.

Joseph Gray, 27, was arraigned this week on child abuse charges in connection with the Dec. 21 incident, Detroit FOX affiliate WJBK reported.

The video shows him hitting, kicking and stepping on the boy over a period of four minutes, then hitting the child with a cooler door before pausing when other customers approached.

GOLF CHANNEL ANCHOR SUSPENDED FOR TIGER REMARK: Announcer joked that young players should 'lynch him in a back alley.'

*Golf Channel anchor Kelly Tilghman, the sport's first female play-by-play announcer, has been suspended by the network for joking that young players should "lynch [Tiger Woods] in a back alley" as a way to deal with his supremacy.


Earlier she had apologized for her comments.


"On Friday during our golf broadcast, Nick Faldo and I were discussing Tiger's dominance in the golf world and I used some poorly chosen words," Tilghman said in a statement. "I have known Tiger for 12 years and I have apologized directly to him. I also apologize to our viewers who may have been offended by my comments."


Apparently the apology was not enough, because late Wednesday, the network made their move to suspend her.


"While we believe that Kelly's choice of words was inadvertent and that she did not intend them in an offensive manner, the words were hurtful and grossly inappropriate," Golf Channel said in its statement. "Consequently, we have decided to suspend Kelly for two weeks, effective immediately."





Tilghman was helped when Mark Steinberg, Woods' agent, said it was a non-issue and considered the matter "case closed."


"Tiger and Kelly are friends, and Tiger has a great deal of respect for Kelly," Steinberg said Tuesday night in a statement released by Golf Channel. "Regardless of the choice of words used, we know unequivocally that there was no ill-intent in her comments."


This recent incident brings to memory the comments made by golfer Fuzzy Zoeller in 1997. After Woods won the Masters that year at age 21 to become its youngest champion, Zoeller referred to him as "that little boy," and suggested that Woods not serve fried chicken or collard greens, "or whatever the hell they serve," at the Champions Dinner.


Woods, who had a different management team in his first full season, did not respond for three days to Zoeller's apology, and it took Zoeller years to recover from the fallout.


Meanwhile, Tilghman's comments became prevalent on news shows Wednesday, and the Rev. Al Sharpton joined the fray by demanding she be fired immediately.


Golf Channel didn't know who would replace Tilghman in the booth this week at the Sony Open or next week at the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic.

Man Visits a Brothel and Sees Wife

WARSAW (Reuters) - A Polish man got the shock of his life when he visited a brothel and spotted his wife among the establishment's employees. Polish tabloid Super Express said the woman had been making some extra money on the side while telling her husband she worked at a store in a nearby town. "I was dumfounded. I thought I was dreaming," the husband told the newspaper Wednesday.The couple, married for 14 years, are now divorcing, the newspaper reported.
